The foam allows you to have grip while holding it to the panel. Works much better than an alternative that I used to use in the past. Highly recommend these along with all the other blocks they offer.

My work involves much sculpting and very sharp, reverse and double compound curvatures. Much like those who do artwork or fiberglass molds for kit-car type situations to perfection. In creating aerodynamic principles to exotic European body styles, I had made a suggestion to Colten to expand in this area of a more flexible acrylic block which is more akin to more precise curves and varying curves for this type of work and creativity. These are a great answer to what I needed as with many exotic European cars you will never find a spot that isn't curved and needs more hand control and twisting options from a very slight tight curve into much larger radius areas but still with enough strength to even out the transition of the blended areas or reverse / double compound curvature areas. These blocks are prefect for this as well as having a soft side which is great for after getting your body formed perfected and painted the softer side is perfect for any color sanding or final wet sanding of clear to follow the perfected bodywork you've already created whether on a body or in a mold to produce multiple parts these are a "Must-Have" for those with a more specific professional need as well as those who just want a perfect clear-coat wet sanding block for that last very fine block before polish. I am thrilled with these as I know you will be too if you have the strive for perfection.
